"The reasonable man [sic.] adapts himself to the world, the unreasonable man persists in  trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man". -George Bernard Shaw.

I am a 30 years old (born in 29th July 1986) wheelchair user young with physical disability based in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is located in South-East Asia region, which have about 160+ million people living in 147,570 km² area and 10% to 12% of the total population are disabled (World Bank’s Report on Disability 2012). I am a Founder & General Secretary of a district based organization United Actions (Natore, Bangladesh) from August 2011 and a fulltime regular Student of Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. (Hon’s)) of ASA University Bangladesh (ASUB) from summer 2016 session.

I am the first Asian wheelchair user young who successfully finished a travel named "Mohoram's Wheels" from Bangladesh capital Dhaka to USA capital Washington DC over land and water only. With my own wheelchair and all by myself I have traveled 25,728 KMS, 16 countries – Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, Belgium, UK and USA by using bus and train only, including a single flight journey from London to New York (More details, photos videos are available at www.facebook.com/groups/MohoramsWheels  and/or  www.flickr.com/themohoram/albums  and/or  www.youtube.com/themohoram/videos). Journey was started 25th June 2011 and finished 28th February 2012.

My job career did start at March 1999 by starting work with ADD Bangladesh as a community Self-Help Group (SHG) leader at the age of 13, when I was a high school student was studying for class eighth only. I have worked their Natore project for 3 years and 2 months until April 2002. ADD is a UK based international organization founded in 1985, working in 9 countries for positive change the life of People With Disability (PWD). Still I am partially involved with them.

In 2002, just after finish my 1st time SSC Examinations, I have been to Dhaka, capital of the country, for a 3 months based vocation training on computer (Computer Applications) in the Center for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP (www.crp-bangladesh.org)). CRP is country's one of the largest NGOs working for promoting the fundamental rights of people with disabilities and for medical and social rehabilitation to the community. After completion the said training I was offered a job by the organization for the post of Peer Councellor (even when I was not SSC passed). I had been working in that organization for the many posts/designations from July 2002 to December 2013. During the job in CRP, I have established a local NGO named United Actions in August 2011 in Natore district for promoting the their rights of and for vocational training for the persons with disability of northern area of the country. United Actions is registered with Directorate of Social Welfare, Govt. of Bangladesh on 17th July 2014. United Actions is unofficially/informally classified to DPO (disabled peoples’ organization) format.

I am also continuing my study for the class of Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. (Hon’s)) degree at ASA University Bangladesh (ASUB) located in Dhaka from summer 2016 session. From a short visit to University of Karlsruhe (Germany) during my world tour in Oct. 2011 first time I partially realized that I should have a university degree to enhance myself, my activities, my present & future initiatives and secure my future life prosperous and finance-well. My 2nd time realization on necessity of further education came by my visit to British Parliament on Nov. 2011 as a participant to a programme by British Parliament where about 5 British MPs and former Home Minister David Blanket were present. My 3rd and full & final realization to be a university graduated must had come to mind from a short visit of New York State University (USA) in February 2012. But the main problem was I was only SSC passed. So what! I got passed my HSC examination in June 2015 and got admitted to said university in April 2016.

I was born in Sadar Upozela of Natore district in 1986. I did live in the family in a very remote village with father, mother, 2 sisters and 2 brothers (including me) before I come to Dhaka for a training on computer fundamentals in 2002. I am the 3rd child of my parents. Very early in a morning, my parents did feel their son, me, is felling bit pain in my left arm and leg. They took it very normally and were busy with daily activities. By the afternoon, I became paralysed as a result of Polio at the age of 1 year and 6 months. My parents took me to several traditional treatment makers (locally called Kobiraj) but not to doctor(s). No result affected me at all. When my parents took me to doctor and doctor told them it is a result of polio. “Probably nothing have to do now, go ahead with this realistic situation”, said doctor. Now I move about by wheelchair.

My hobbies are- Talking, Public speaking, Gossiping, Travelling, Leaning English, Showering in rain, Eating hot foods, Reading law and disability related journals, Watching issue based movies and documentaries, Sleeping, Documenting, etc.
