Inauguration of open architectural design competition
Grameen Telecom Trust (GTT) and Grameen Kalyan (GK) is setting up a health project at Diabari, Uttara, named “Samajik Health Science Institute and Research Centre (SHSIRC)” comprising of 500 bed Samajik Medical College Hospital, Grameen Caledonian College of Nursing and Samajik Health Technology Institute etc.
An open architectural design competition, for MASTER PLANNING OF THE PROJECT AND DETAIL DESIGN OF GRAMEEN CALEDONIAN COLLEGE OF NURSING, was jointly organized by GTT and GK in association with Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB). The competition entries were evaluated by a jury panel comprising Prof. Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Ar. Haroon Ur Rashid, Ar. Khan Md. Mustapha Khalid, Ar. Dr. Khandaker Shabbir Ahmed and Engr. Md. Ashraful Hassan. Out of the 36 participants Design Lab Architects (Ar. Md. Nazmul Haq Bulbul and team) became first. DWG (Ar. Tanzim Hasan Salim and team) and Lines Architects (Ar. Mohiuddin Zilanee and team) obtained second and third places respectively.
A four day long exhibition of open architectural design competition was held on 24 September, 2016.The event was inaugurated by Prof. S.M. Huzzatul Islam Latifee (Honourable Trustee and Vice Chairman, Grameen Telecom Trust), Ms. Parveen Mahmud, FCA (Managing Director, Grameen Telecom Trust) and Ar. Dr. Abu Sayeed M. Ahmed (President, Institute of Architects Bangladesh) at IAB Centre, Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, Agargaon, Dhaka at 5:30 P.M. and the exhibition continued till September 27, 2016.
