Sohel Ahmed is currently working as the Managing Director of Grameen Shakti, looking after the overall activities from policy and operational level to local and international liaison and coordination. Grameen Shakti is the most successful organization participated in the Solar Home System (SHS) program in Bangladesh, installing more than 1.7 M SHS, emphasizing on Environmental protection, Financial Inclusion and Women Empowerment. He has been working in the field of Renewable Energy for over a decade, having experience of modelling and managing solar portfolios that includes Solar Home System, Solar Irrigation System, Solar Drinking Water, Solar Mini-Grid and so on, ensuring value addition to the socio-economic bottom line of the country. Sohel has the experience of working with SDG implementation, assessment and strategy, participating in different local and international panels, including UN sessions.
